About Me

Hello, my name is Leann!

I am a Jesus follower.... a sinner saved by grace striving for a quieter more holy life.

I am the wife to a bi-vocational pastor who preaches at two churches and is a band director during the week.  He is the English pastor at a local Korean church and an assistant pastor for another church.  He is quiet, thoughtful, and smart and I am so glad he loves me.

I am also the mom of four children.  The kids range from age 23 to 12 and I love being the mom of these wild and wonderful children.  They are very involved in service to our country, community and with several ministries in church.  They are not perfect but they are great kids and I am blessed to be their mom.

Life changes quickly in our home...

Our oldest is serving with the USMC and is married and has a sweet little baby boy... yes, I am a grandmother now!

Our only daughter is now a college student at UMHB and she is studying music education.

It seems we are quickly emptying our nest with only two children left at home.  Our third child is a Senior in high school and our youngest is an eighth grader.  We are involved in scouting (we are very close to having three Eagle Scouts), music studies and church.  That all pretty much consumes our days.

I am still officially a stay at home mom but I do lots of things from my little home and venture out twice a week to be a caregiver to another family so that mom can get out of her house and take care of business.  Her adult daughter is confined to home and cannot be left alone.  So, I go and play mom there, too.

When I am not doing all the mom stuff I take time to read, sew, crochet and write.  I am also a semi-retired chef but still make lots of magic in my own kitchen on a daily basis.  I am not sure if I will stay "retired" forever because I don't think I am done yet.  Physical issues have slowed me way down, though.  I don't mind... I kinda like the slower life.

I was told I had "likely" had Lupus for nearly six years but my current doctor, whom I respect very much, has decided that it is Sjogren's Syndrome.  It really does fit my symptoms better but autoimmune is autoimmune and you fight most of it the same no matter what it is.  I also have Hashimotos Thyroiditis and Fibromyalgia.  God has been good through all of it and has taught me to lean hard into Him on a daily basis.  I get up every day and do life because I will not let it stop me.

I write about all of this on the blog and hope that something I write cheers you,
encourages you, inspires you or just makes you know you are not alone.
This life has twists and turns and I think we were not meant to do it alone.

Let's be friends!

I am glad you stopped by and hope you visit often.  Please feel free to say hello when you stop by.

Blessings to you and your family!
