This is the first of two oatmeal pies I made.
This was before baking and this crust is done with a fork and the following pie was not.
I used molasses instead of corn syrup (which we do not use in our home)
and if you do this remember to use less.
For 1 cup of corn syrup you only need about 1/2 to 3/4 cup molasses or it is far too strong.
I loved how the oats floated to the top and made a crust.
It was typically known as a "poor man's pecan pie"
I can totally see that!
