Have you met Solveig Leithaug before?
She is a charming musician with sweet thoughtful music. She has been around the music industry for many years. She has worshiped with some of the most amazing singers/songwriters of our time in Christian music. I love that she has some familiar names collaborating with her on this album with Reba Rambo-McGuire, Cindy Morgan, Sarah Hart, Anthony Skinner, and Kelly Willard. It is a lovely album to encourage our souls.
Get to know her a little here in an interview done through the youtube channel of Karen Power.
Solveig's music has a laid back country feel. It is thoughtful and personal. She writes from her experiences and deep love of Jesus. I know many of you will love her sound. One of her songs from her recent album is called Simple Things. I encourage you to slow down and take a few minutes to enjoy it here. When you are done scroll down to the end of this post for a little giveaway magic!

Oceans by Hillsong United
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I love this song! Hillsong has some great stuff. We use a lot of their stuff in our youth service.
DeleteI'm not eligible to enter, but I think the song that has spoken to me in so many different seasons of my life is Matt redman's blessed be the name of the Lord.
ReplyDeleteIt's spoken to me in good times and hard times and continues to speak to my soul
Awe... I am sorry! I would love for you to have a copy. Matt Redman is great! Blessed Be the Name of the Lord still gets lots of play time at our church. It is definitely a crowd favorite and one that comes to my mind a lot.
DeleteStars by Skillet - reminds me of who God is and how much He loves me:
ReplyDeleteYou spoke a word and life began
Told oceans where to start and where to end
You set in motion time and space
But still you come and you call to me by name
Still you come and you call to me by name
If you can hold the stars in place
You can hold my heart the same
Whenever I fall away
Whenever I start to break
So here I am, lifting up my heart
To the one who holds the stars
The deepest depths, the darkest nights
Can't separate, can't keep me from your sight
I get so lost, forget my way
But still you love and you don't forget my name
If you can hold the stars in place
You can hold my heart the same
Whenever I fall away
Whenever I start to break
So here I am, lifting up my heart
If you can calm the raging sea
You can calm the storm in me
You're never too far away
You never show up too late
So here I am, lifting up my heart
To the one who holds the stars
Your love has called my name
What do I have to fear?
What do I have to fear?
Your love has called my name
What do I have to fear?
What do I have to fear?
If you can hold the stars in place
You can hold my heart the same
Whenever I fall away
Whenever I start to break
So here I am, lifting up my heart
(Lifting up my heart)
If you can calm the raging sea
You can calm the storm in me
You're never too far away
You never show up too late
So here I am, lifting up my heart
To the one who holds the stars
You're the one who holds the stars
Those are great lyrics! I have not heard this one... I will be looking it up on youtube to hear it now. My kids enjoy some of the Skillet songs. :)
DeleteThat was beautiful! It is nice to find something so sweet.
ReplyDeleteIt is difficult to name a favorite, but it just might be "Tis So Sweet."
Definitely one of my favorites, too. There is just nothing like the classic hymns. Most of my favorite contemporary praise songs are based on or include sections of old hymns, too. I grew up with hymns and will always love them!
DeleteHey Elizabeth... you won! Please send me your snail mail address to my e-mail chefleann@gmail.com and I will get that in the mail on Monday for you! Thank you and CONGRATULATIONS!!!
DeleteThere are so many. I guess it depends on what I'm focusing on at the time. But I think one of my favorites right now has got to be Zachary Williams "Chain Breaker"
ReplyDeleteOoo... they play this one a lot on KLOVE. Great one! I can totally see you loving this one! LOL
