I read a lot of foodie books and cookbooks but one of my most favorite books is called Katish: Our Russian Cook by Wanda Frolov.
It is Foodie Fiction with a plausibility in real life. It is a novel with tons of recipes sprinkled throughout. I made nearly every one as I was reading the book, which could explain why it took me so long to read it. I had to stop at the end of every chapter and see if I had the ingredients to make everything. I also loved the illustrations... hand drawn and so perfect for this story.
My most favorite and most used recipes from the book are the Stroganoff and the Mushrooms in Sour Cream Sauce.
